FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

WINIST is a manufacturer with its own factory, not a trading company. Founded in 2000. Automated factory of approximately 9,900 m² in Incheon, South Korea. Annual capacity 70,000,000 units.

What is the MOQ for OEM hot packs?

It varies by product, but is around 100,000 units. Please email trading@winistlsp.com for the exact figure for your specification.

Do you offer private label and custom printing?

Yes. We print your logo and artwork across the full front of the pouch, and we produce private label and white label products. Custom printed hand warmers with a custom logo are our core OEM and ODM business. WINIST manufactures in its own automated factory in Incheon, South Korea, established in 2000, so this is contract manufacturing at the source rather than trading.

What is the production lead time?

Lead times differ between stocked items and new OEM production. New OEM production takes about one month in the off-season and about two months in peak season.

What is the shelf life?

3 years from the date of manufacture. Keep unopened, away from direct sunlight, in a cool place.

Which certifications do you hold?

WINIST holds ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management (certificate no. QI765723) and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management (certificate no. EI430423). Both were first issued on 23 December 2014, renewed on 22 December 2023, and are valid until 29 November 2027. They are issued by ICR, accredited by IAS under the IAF MLA, IAF code 23. The certified scope is the development and manufacture of hand warmers, hot pads and body warmers.

Every brand has completed a KC safety declaration: POPORANG hot pack B683D5001-25002, Loyalty Hot Pack B683D5001-25003 and Mom's Hand warmer B683D5001-25004 (non-adhesive types), Mom's Hand adhesive B683D5001-25001 and Loyalty Hot Pack adhesive B683D5001-26006 (adhesive types). They are issued by KTC, the Korea Testing Certification Institute, under Annex 68 Heat Pack of KATS Notice 2017-032. Korean safety declarations for consumer products carry no expiry date. The POPORANG Mini is additionally registered as a children’s product under confirmation no. CB155D0001-4001, issued by FITI Testing and Research Institute on 5 July 2024 and valid until 4 July 2029.

What are the maximum temperature and duration?

They vary by product. Pocket Large 150g reaches a maximum of 70°C and lasts 18 hours. Medium 90g reaches 70°C and lasts 12 hours. Adhesive 50g reaches 65°C and lasts 12 hours. Mini 25g x 2ea reaches 70°C and lasts 8 hours. Average temperature is 60°C (±5°C).

What are the ingredients?

Iron powder, activated carbon, salt, a water-absorbing agent and diatomite. The iron powder reacts with oxygen in the air to generate heat. The outer nonwoven fabric is nylon or PET for pocket types and PP/PE for adhesive types.

Are the hot packs reusable?

No. The iron oxidation reaction is irreversible, so a pack does not reheat once it has cooled. These are single-use products. If you stop using a pack while it is still warm, however, put it in a zip-lock bag, press the air out and seal it. Cutting off the oxygen stops the reaction, and you can take it out the next day and use the remaining hours.

Can you ship to our country? What are your Incoterms?

WINIST has exported since 2006, starting with Japan, followed by Malaysia in 2013 and Russia in 2016. WINIST also sells its own brands on Amazon.com in the United States. We ship by sea freight in full or partial containers from Incheon, and by air for samples and urgent orders. Incoterms such as EXW, FOB and CIF are agreed per order. Please email trading@winistlsp.com with your destination and quantity.

Can we request samples?

Yes, samples are available. Conditions are confirmed when you send an inquiry.

Are these disposable or rechargeable hand warmers?

They are disposable, single-use hand warmers. WINIST products are air-activated: iron powder oxidises on contact with oxygen in the air and releases heat, so no electricity, batteries or charging is involved. They are a different product from electric or rechargeable hand warmers. No shaking or kneading is needed — the pack starts heating as soon as you open the outer wrapper.

Do you sell wholesale or in bulk?

Yes. WINIST supplies wholesale and bulk orders, corporate purchases, event handouts and promotional giveaways. We can ship our own branded products in bulk, or produce custom printed hand warmers with your logo under OEM, ODM, private label or white label arrangements. This is contract manufacturing in our own factory, not trading. Email trading@winistlsp.com with your quantity and destination.

Do you make toe warmers and adhesive body warmers?

Yes. The foot warmer is a toe warmer that sticks inside a shoe or boot: 20 g per piece, two pieces per pair, 43°C maximum and about 8 hours. The adhesive body warmer is a stick-on warming patch applied over clothing on the stomach, lower back, knees or shoulders: 50 g, 65°C maximum and about 12 hours. Pocket types, adhesive types, toe warmers and steam eye masks are all produced in the same factory.

What are these hand warmers used for?

Winter outdoor activity — camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, golf and spectator sport — and outdoor work such as construction sites, logistics yards, security and parking management. They are also ordered in bulk as winter promotional giveaways, trade show handouts and corporate gifts. Pocket types go in a pocket or glove, adhesive types stick over clothing, and toe warmers go inside a shoe.

What else are hand warmers called?

The same product is sold as a hand warmer, hot pack, heat pack, body warmer, adhesive body warmer, warming patch, heat patch, toe warmer, foot warmer and steam eye mask. The technical description is an air-activated disposable warmer. In Japan it is called kairo, and in China nuanbaobao.
